Solar Eternal Lights, when technology helps us feel better in difficult moments
Solar eternal lights are an ingenious and elegant way to pay tribute to our loved ones. It is also a nice additional and comforting option for remembering them after they are gone. Contrary to candles or battery operated eternal lights that require constant maintenance, a solar light will provide long years of trouble-free lighting. A memorial solar Light can nicely fit with any other more conventional memorials. | |
Solar lights for cemeteries produce an agreeable soft white or colored light that will spread a warm glow on the resting place every night. The Field of Lights designed by David Bergman is a particularly remarkable project. It is a creative approach to solar memorial lighting. Solar cross lights, the angel solar light and the solar candle light are the most popular solar memorial lights. |
| Installing a solar cemetery light is very easy, just place it on the desired location and let Mother Nature do the rest. |
Some cemetery administrations forbid the placement of memorials of any kind in the area surrounding the gravestone. The only objects allowed are the ones placed on the memorial itself.
The way solar cemetery lights or eternal lights operate is similar to solar yard lights. The built-in solar panel charges the batteries during sunlight and a photocell coupled to an electronic circuit switches-on the light at dusk then off at dawn. Lighting is produced by LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes). LEDs can last up to 100.000 hours. The batteries will probably need replacement every 2 to 3 years. |

Laser etched solar lights are also available. They can be custom-made to reproduce the picture of a loved one in 3 dimensions. The effect produced by these solar eternal lights is wonderful. Solar flag pole lights can also be used in cemeteries. |
