Solar Floating Lights for Pond or Pool
If you have a decorative pond in your garden or a swimming pool in your back yard, you already know that
lighting them at night creates a special atmosphere that's quite magical.
Flood lights and spotlights can do a good job of lighting your water features, but solar floating
lights can add extra charm to the scene. Solar lights are an easy and relatively inexpensive way to dress
up your pond, fountain or pool for special occasions (even if the special occasion is staying home alone for some
peace and quiet for a change).

Usually, like solar yard lights they are designed with built-in solar panels and photo cells,
so they will automatically turn on as dusk falls. They are small enough and light weight enough (from 4 to 25
inches wide, but less than a pound) that you can easily put them in a sunny location that gets full sun all
day in order to charge them up for 8 hours of night time illumination.

LED lights will last for up to 20 years without having to be replaced. Solar floating lights come in lots of
different colors (red, white, amber, green, blue), so you can mix and match to fit your outdoor living room color
scheme. Solar pond lights come in flat disk shapes or round spheres, so you
can decide which style and size is the best fit for your water feature.

Many manufacturers also provide stake mounts so you can use the lights for accent or pathway lighting as well as
float them in the water. You could cluster several smaller sized lights together and create grouping on the deck or
patio. Or you could position one of the large spheres by itself, next to a plant or sculpture that you would like
to feature.
Solar floating lights have many more used than just looking pretty in the water. If you're
having a party that includes a punch bowl or a large tub of ice water to chill beverages, you could float a
colorful solar light so that everyone will know where the drinks are located. Once you start thinking of places
to use them, your creativity will run wild. Before you know it, you'll be brining them with you into the hot tub
and your bubble bath. More on floating solar lights
